Abstract: In this paper, a comparison of the depressant effects of resins extracted from fuel oil and crude oil is carried out. The objects of comparison in the paper are represented by a sample of commercial diesel fuel and its mixtures with additional concentrations (0.0025 and 0.0500 wt. %) of oil benzene resins. The subject of the comparison is the depressant effect of resins, expressed in the influence on the low-temperature properties of diesel fuel. As a result of the work, it was established that the depressant effect of oil resins extracted from fuel oil in relation to diesel fuel pour point is stronger than effect of oil resins extracted from crude oil. This difference in the depressant effect can be explain by the difference in the molecular weight of the oil resins
