Abstract:	In the study properties of TiO2 coatings on titanium alloy VT1-0 caused by vacuum-arc plasma-assistedmethod were studied. It has been found that the protective coating significantly improves the surface hardness ofthe titanium alloy. At the same time hydrogenation virtually does not effect on the hardness. After hydrogenationof coated titanium alloy substantially all the hydrogen is retained in the coating.
