Abstract: In this work, novel Nb-containing high-entropy alloys were synthesized for hydrogen purification and separation membranes. It was found that the NbNiCoTiZr alloy had a fine-grained structure and also consisted mainly of two BCC-phases. While substitution of Ti and Zr and addition of V to the NbNiCoTiZr system produced many different phases such as rhombohedral, cubic Laves C14 and C15 phases, and zirconium oxide inclusions were observed in NbNiCoTiZr0.5V0.5 and NbNiCoZrV alloys
