| Abstract: | In this study, laminated SiC-Zr composites were prepared at sintering temperatures of 1800 and 1900 °C. From the microstructure of these samples, three layers can be distinguished: 1 - metallic zirconium, 2 - reacted layer and 3 - porous SiC ceramics. From the EDS analysis it was revealed that the first layer is zirconium oxide, the second is a compound of the Zr-C-O system, and the third is unreacted silicon carbide |
