Abstract: The article is devoted to the problem of hydrogen storage as a promising environmentally friendly energy carrier. The main methods of storage (compression, liquid hydrogen, metal hydride and porous storage) are considered with an analysis of their advantages and disadvantages. Particular attention is paid to the problem of hydrogen embrittlement of cylinder materials and methods for overcoming it, such as heat treatment, the use of protective coatings and the improvement of production technologies
